we are 1) building footers and 2) signing up lots of campers and summer staff!! here are the details....

1) Over 30 people have come to help build so far!! Some come for just a few hours, some come for a week at a time. It has been such a blessing to have the Lord's people here working shoulder to shoulder, wether they are lawyers, contractors, retirees or high school students. We have had lots of great skills put to the Lord's service right here on site -- a surveyor, a backhoe expert, two bulldozer operators, a civil engineer, a licensed plumber and electrician, a framer. Others have labored behind the scene, an electrical contractor, an HVAC engineer, two architects. We have had equipment on loan: a backhoe, a dump truck, a bulldozer, a utility tractor. And we are out of the mud!! the footers are done, and the interior floor area is covered with gravel. We hope to get it ready to be poured in about a week. Check the camp website for updated photos every now and then. Just today a highly experienced brick mason stopped by to look at our fireplace plan. He proposed to bring a crew of volunteers this summer and rough it in for just the cost of materials. He estimates it will be about $15,000 in materials, and about that much more to finish it with stacked stone. We are trusting the Lord for the funds for that, as well as about $12,000 for roofing shingles. In fact, there are 3 - 4 teams coming in the next few months to continue the project. It's not all paid for yet!! we just have enough to dry it in. The laborers are lining up, and we know God will continue to provide.

2) The students are excited about summer camp!! We are over half full in most categories -- but none are completely full yet. There is still room for someone from your family or your church!! And we still need counselors and cooks. Please contact me soon if you feel God is leading you to serve here this summer. It is an awesome opportunity to have an impact for Christ in the lives of children and teens. We have PAINTBALL now!! it will be another fun way for the campers to enjoy the great outdoors. We will be playing in the woods at a nearby farm. All safety equipment, rules and policies will be in place to make sure it is fun and safe for everyone involved.
